Introduction
Furikaeri Nikki (the "App") respects user privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, why it is used, where it is stored, and how it can be deleted.
Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following information on your device:
- Diary data: Titles, content, creation and update dates, tags, and related information
- Settings: Nickname, language, theme, reminders, avatar, and other App settings
Account and Sync Information
If you sign in, the App may handle an account identifier, email address, and other information provided by the authentication source as necessary to authenticate your account. Sync is off by default. If you enable it, eligible diary data, tags, update dates, deletion status, and other information needed for synchronization are sent to external cloud infrastructure and synchronized across devices using the same account.
Purchase and Subscription Information
To provide paid features, restore purchases, and verify subscription status, the App may handle product or plan identifiers, purchase, renewal, expiration, and cancellation status, transaction or event identifiers, and identifiers needed to associate purchase status with an App account. Payment and card information is handled by the app marketplace and is not directly received or stored by the App.
Usage and Diagnostic Information
If you enable usage data sharing during onboarding, the App may send feature usage events, such as screen views and button interactions, to an external analytics provider to improve features. Sharing is shown as enabled during onboarding, and you can turn it off there. To maintain safety and investigate failures, the App sends limited diagnostic information, including controlled App errors, App version, and operating environment, to an external diagnostics provider regardless of the usage analytics choice. Diagnostic reporting cannot be disabled from Settings. Usage and diagnostic events exclude diary titles and content, tag names, images, email addresses, account identifiers, authentication material, and network request or response bodies. The App does not collect screen recordings, screenshots, or view hierarchy data.
Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect:
- Location data
- Contacts stored in your device address book
- Contents of your photo or media library
- Device identifiers used for advertising
- Payment card information
Purposes of Use
Information is handled to:
- Provide diary, reminder, widget, and other App features
- Authenticate accounts and provide cross-device synchronization
- Verify purchases and provide or restore paid features
- Understand usage and improve features within the scope of user consent
- Detect and investigate failures, maintain security, and prevent misuse
- Respond to inquiries and comply with legal obligations
Storage and Service Providers
Diary data is primarily stored on your device. If you enable sync, eligible data is also stored on external cloud infrastructure. The App uses service providers for authentication, cloud synchronization, purchase management, usage analytics, and diagnostics. These providers process information only as needed to provide their respective functions. Information may be processed outside your country or region of residence.
Third-Party Disclosure
The App does not sell personal information. Information is not disclosed to third parties except when:
- Processing is entrusted to service providers under appropriate agreements or terms to provide the functions described in this Policy
- You provide consent
- Disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect life, safety, or property
- Information is transferred as part of a business succession subject to appropriate safeguards
Retention and Deletion
Information is retained for as long as necessary to provide each function, respond to failures, and comply with legal obligations. Deletion may require a reasonable period due to legal retention requirements, security, fraud prevention, or backup rotation.
- Individual diary entries: You can delete them in the App. If sync is enabled, the deletion state is also synchronized.
- Data on your device: It is deleted when you uninstall the App.
- Cloud account and synced data: While signed in, you can request deletion through the in-app account deletion feature. Uninstalling the App alone does not delete this data.
- Purchase and subscription records: The app marketplace and purchase management providers may retain records as needed for transaction management, restoration, refunds, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Deleting your App account does not delete purchase history managed by the app marketplace.
- Usage and diagnostic information: It is retained according to the provider's retention practices for as long as needed for analytics or diagnostics, and is then deleted or anonymized.
Notifications
The App can send reminder notifications at times you choose. Notifications are optional and use the device's local notification system.
Widgets
The App provides a home screen widget. Diary excerpts shown in the widget are processed on the device.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law requires parental consent, users must comply with that law.
Security
The App applies reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. However, no transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Data on the device is protected by device security features such as passcodes and biometric authentication.
Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be updated in response to changes in law or App functionality. Material changes will be announced in the App or on the developer's website. The updated Policy applies from the stated effective date.
